Most of the PTA members and schools that organise the collections are aware of the trust we have with them and that they use our media to help advertise the school collections. The information leaflets state what can be collected at the school and equally as important what we cannot collect. If you have plans to use your own media, please let us know so we can save money on the printing process and save some time too!
Unfortunately throughout the last few months, this element of the project has been neglected by some, therefore, we have had the tedious and time consuming task of sorting through the clothes to remove items we do not collect such as duvets, pillows and also items of clothing that are simply worn out or are covered in paint etc.
Sadly as you can well image, this has caused a very very big delay to our entire process. All collections are now checked manually at the warehouse, only at this point can we then finalise the collection weight. We ask you to be patient while we sort though each school collection and hope for your understanding as this will cause a further delay on all payments towards the academic year end. As the delay is currently around 8 weeks we know that some schools will not get their cheques by the academic year end (which is normally 5 weeks, but now further delayed).
If you are a PTA member and can still take the cheque by post to a home address over the summer break, please contact us ASAP to make arrangements. All those that have not given instructions to us will get the payment at the start of the term as usual – We have tried posting them in previous years, but so many get returned as ‘Closed’ etc. during the summer break.
Rest assured, your payment will be done. There is simply a delay!
